Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Top Secret Ventures LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our Services. Plan with Ivy (PlanWithIvy.com) is a product owned and operated by Top Secret Ventures LLC. References in this Privacy Policy to "Ivy" mean Plan with Ivy, including the PlanWithIvy.com website, retirement planning software, calculators, applications, tools, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Related statements. Depending on where you live, additional disclosures apply to you:
- If you are a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or Virginia resident, see our State Consumer Privacy Statement, which supplements this Policy with the specific categories, sources, and rights required under those states' laws.
- If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, see our GDPR Statement, which supplements this Policy with the lawful basis, transfer, and rights information required under GDPR.
Where a state or GDPR statement conflicts with this Policy, the more specific statement controls for the jurisdiction it covers.
Plan With Ivy is software designed to assist with retirement planning projections and educational financial modeling. The Services are not a substitute for personalized financial, legal, tax, or investment advice and do not create a financial advisor, fiduciary, attorney-client, or tax advisor relationship. Users should consult qualified professionals regarding their specific financial situations before making important financial decisions.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
Plan With Ivy asks you to build a financial and retirement profile by entering your own information. This includes your name, email address, phone number, account credentials, and the financial details you choose to enter — such as account balances, retirement income estimates, Social Security estimates, pension information, insurance information, spending and budgeting information, real estate values, and similar figures you self-report.
Important: we do not connect to, aggregate, or pull data from your bank, brokerage, retirement plan provider, or any other financial institution. We do not request or store your financial institution login credentials, and we do not use account-linking or data-aggregation services (such as Plaid or similar providers) to retrieve statements or balances on your behalf. Every figure in your profile is entered by you, and you control what you enter, edit, and delete. If this changes in the future — for example, if we add an optional account-linking feature — we will update this Policy and obtain any consent required before turning it on.
We also collect information you submit through communications with us, customer support interactions, and any other information you voluntarily provide through the Services.
Information collected automatically
We may automatically collect information about your interaction with the Services, including IP addresses, browser type, operating system, device information, referral URLs, pages viewed, session activity, time spent on pages, clickstream data, and error logs. We use cookies, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, and understand usage trends. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled. See our State Consumer Privacy Statement and GDPR Statement for how these technologies interact with your rights.
Sensitive personal information
Some of the information in your profile — financial account balances, income and Social Security figures, and your account login credentials — is treated as sensitive personal information under applicable law, even though it is self-reported rather than pulled from a financial institution. Being self-declared reduces certain risks (there is no institution access token or aggregated account feed for anyone to compromise), but it does not change how the law classifies the data. We use sensitive personal information only as necessary to provide the Services — to generate your projections and scenarios — and do not use it to infer characteristics about you beyond what you've told us. California residents have a right to limit our use of sensitive personal information; see the State Consumer Privacy Statement for how to exercise that right.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above to operate and improve the Services, generate your retirement projections and scenario comparisons, personalize your experience, process subscriptions and payments, communicate with you, provide customer support, improve security and prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and develop new features. We may use anonymized or aggregated data — data that has been stripped of anything that could identify you — to improve our software and models generally.
AI-Powered Features
Plan With Ivy uses AI-enhanced technology to help generate retirement projections, scenario comparisons, and educational explanations based on the information in your profile. Specifically:
- What's processed: the inputs you provide (your profile data and any questions or prompts you enter) and the outputs the AI generates in response.
- Human oversight: AI-generated projections and explanations are intended to be informational and educational. They are not independently reviewed by a person before being shown to you, and they are not a substitute for advice from a licensed financial, legal, or tax professional. You should treat AI outputs as a starting point for your own thinking, not a final recommendation.
- Training use requires opt-in: we do not use your individual profile data or conversation content to train or improve our underlying AI models unless you affirmatively opt in. You can change this preference at any time by contacting us at info@planwithivy.com.
- Retention of AI conversations: we retain AI conversation transcripts for 90 days from the date of the conversation, after which they are deleted, unless you've opted in to model-improvement use (in which case de-identified content may be retained longer) or we're required to retain them longer for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
- Third-party AI providers: some AI features are powered by third-party AI infrastructure providers who process this data on our behalf, under contractual terms that prohibit them from using your data to train their own general-purpose models. See "How We Share Information" below.
If California's or the EU's automated-decision-making rules apply to a particular feature — for example, if a feature is later built to make a decision about you rather than simply present information — we will provide the additional notices, opt-outs, and access rights those laws require. See the State Consumer Privacy Statement and GDPR Statement.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal financial information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Services — hosting, cloud infrastructure, payment processing, analytics, customer support, security, and (as described above) AI infrastructure providers — under contracts that limit their use of your information to the purposes we authorize.
- Legal and safety purposes — to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, enforce our agreements, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect the safety of our users.
- Business transfers — if we're involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same protections described here.
For the specific categories of information shared, the specific categories of recipients, and whether any sharing counts as a "sale" or "share" under California law, see the State Consumer Privacy Statement.
Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and access controls limiting who can view your profile information. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
Data Retention
We retain your profile information for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete your profile information within 30 days, except where we're required to retain certain records for legal, tax, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, in which case we retain only what's necessary for those purposes and for no longer than required. AI conversation transcripts follow the retention window described above. We may retain anonymized or aggregated information indefinitely, since it no longer identifies you.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to opt out of certain uses, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. See the State Consumer Privacy Statement (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia) or the GDPR Statement (UK/EEA) for the specific rights that apply to you and how to exercise them. To reach us about any privacy request regardless of jurisdiction, contact info@planwithivy.com.
Children's Privacy
The Services are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we've collected information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
International Users
If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. If you're in the UK or EEA, see the GDPR Statement for the specific safeguards that apply to that transfer.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make a material change — particularly one affecting how we share information or use sensitive personal information — we will provide advance notice and, where required by law, seek your renewed consent before the change takes effect. We'll post the updated Policy with a new effective date; continued use of the Services after that date constitutes acceptance of the update, except where additional consent is legally required.
